Children Collide With Car On Halloween Night

December 29, 2005

State Police are investigating a collision between two females and a motorist on Route 44 and Route 7 Monday night.

According to the police report, Caitlyn Cecchinato, 6, and Jessica Cecchinato, 24, of 103 Main Street collided with a car driven by Lisa M. Jamieson, 42, of 729 Clayton Road in Sheffield, Massachusetts, at the intersection around 5:07 p.m.

Lisa Jamieson was traveling east on Route 44 and had a green light at the intersection, when the two female pedestrians allegedly ran out into the road and collided with the 1996 Dodge Caravan Jamieson was operating, the report said.

A witness told police Jamieson had stopped to allow the pedestrians to cross the roadway, according to the report.

Caitlyn was transported to Hartford Hoaspital in stable condition with minor head injuries, according to police.

Jessica was treated and released from Sharon Hospital, police said.

Police did not know the relationship between the females or if they were trick or treating for Halloween.

No charges have been filed and the accident remains under investigation, police said.
